Adios

One of my good friends in Lubbock is leaving town. The sad part being me not in town and not able to bid him goodbye. He is gem of a person, has got some amazing sense of humour, expert in .NET and I will start falling short of words if I start telling about his culinary skills.Dont think u will ever feel bored when he is around cuz he is alwayz full of energy - secret of him being a good basket-ball player.I know wherever he will go,he will keep the Red Raiders "Go Tech"spirit alive.Big Texas Tech football fan and I followed suit,no wonder why. Both of us believe sooner or later there will be a game of football:Texas Tech vs Austin, where Tech will end up on the winning side :)
I am not sure if I will get a chance to see him again. But then they say its a small world (maybe at the Superbowls)So u never know!!

I wish him all the best for all his future endeavors.

Parkinson's Law

"Work expands according to the time available for its completion"

I wonder if there are people who dont feel that the above rule did apply to their lives atleast for once or is it me only who had been experiencing it since childhood.During school days when we use to get homeworks for say friday on monday itself,I dont remember finishing it before thursday midnite. But if the same thing had to be submitted on wednesday ,I know it would be done by tuesday midnite....Phew!! Thats human nature.

Welcome to the world of engineering and you dont see yourself finishing things untill the very last minute. We had never ending syllabi for some weird subjects like VLSI we had to study in computer science engineering.(I could never figure out why they tortured our poor souls with electrical science subjects like VLSI & DSP.Why wudnt they give the same treatment to EE students by making them study things like compiler design & data structures...I wud rather end it here only, cuz I know I can go on n on on this...)
Coming back, whenever we had VLSI exam, there use to be this dreadful look on everybody's face that morning.Running through notes and books till the very last minute.Even though we got two holidayz in the end term,it was never enough.

We use to joke around
"In engineering, you could have one holiday for an exam, would not be able to finish your course ,pass at the margin and blame the university atleast for not giving enough preparation time.

Or

You could have five holidays, still never be able to be finish your course, pass at the margin and end up with no excuse.

So its better to have none/one day off for each exam ,get over with them ASAP and Party with all the excuses in your bag" (U gotta agree with this one,its logical :))

Coming here in US, we have these online submissions before 12 midnite.I remember hearing from a professor - "The maximum submissions are between 11:50 to 12:00,would like to do a research on any auspicious reasons behind that" :)
At work, there are all kinds of project deadlines. How relieving it is when we come to know from our PM that we have got an extension. But still it leads to putting some extra effort and slogging in the end, though I am pretty sure @ work most of us try to be on our toes and avoid that situation.

You have to figure out if you are running short of time or time is running short of you.
My state of mind still remains the same though:
There are never enough hours in a day, but always too many days before Saturday.

Questioning The Universal Truth

Nothing is clear
Its all hazy
I dont know why
Its driving me crazy

To be or not to be
I am not so sure
I think I know
There is lot to explore

Highs and lows
Like a tidal wave
From positives to negatives
I see a dark cave

Floating to a point
I realise there is no scope
Dreams are never a reality
I am almost out of hope

My mind wanders around
In this never-ending maze
I say to myself
Its just a phase

Up in the sky
Looking with despair
My faith is rekindled
God is still there

The answer to the question
I am still not sure
Is two plus two
Always equal to four?

No one can play just once !!

Nintendo DS Lite, the latest model of handheld game console released by Nintendo is no less than an addiction. You just cant stop playing .I had been wondering where I was spending all my spare time in the world, when I realised it is this Dual Screen (DS) touch screen thing which I got addicted to.You complete one level of Super Mario game and but now you wanna do the next level. There is no way you wanna quit .You think offcourse, I can clear this one too and keep on trying ,trying n trying unless you are through. Its been over 3 hours and you don’t realize it.Its a vicious cycle which continues.

The big news is that President Bush got a Nintendo DS lite as a birthday gift from Nintendo and he just cant get his hands off that thing. It dominates the sales chart and over 2 million units have been sold in US itself. No wonder today you will find a DS Lite in every kids home in the US.But I am sure popularity is not restricted to kids only. Many of my friends are a lot into this. Also not only US but the thing is getting popular worldwide.I remember reading somewhere, the PlayStation Portable by Sony has fallen victim to Nintendo, with the DS now outselling the PSP in the UK.Well not so good news for Sony fans though.

Heard that soon it is going to be released in pink.”Nintendo DS Lite Noble Pink”. Cant resist the idea of buying that one…….

Everything CLICKed that night

How exciting it is to watch a movie sitting under the open sky, under the stars....Sitting on top of a Chevrolet Colorado...The light breeze is blowing, popcorns and soda and watch a movie in which a guy gets a remote control of his life in his hands. With the Click of the button he can rewind, fast forward and pause his life.Sounds interesting.....Well "Click" was too cool but watching it in a open air drive in theatre made it more.I have alwayz been fascinated by an open sky full of stars.
Aim for the stars
Reach for the sky
No goal is too distant
No dream is too high
Sitting there I could feel as if I am on the top of the world!!

One of my fav these dayz

California calling 20 miles to go,
And I don't, I don't know,
Should I turn around or should I leave you alone?
No I don't, I don' t know
I don't know,
No i don't know...

California calling 20 miles to go,
And I don't, I don't know,
Shod I turn around or shod I leave you alone?
No I don't, I don' t know
I don't know,
No I don't know...

Gotta keep on moving on,
Gotta keep on moving on,
Gotta keep on moving on,
California calling, California calling,
Gotta keep on moving on,
Gotta keep on moving on,
Gotta keep on moving on,
California calling, California calling.
